Teen scatters stuff in several cars, takes some, too, police say

A teenager was allegedly caught after breaking into vehicles in a downtown Olympia parking lot last Mon., Aug. 16 just before 4 a.m. 

Parker Timothy James Daly, 19, of Lacey, was videotaped by a vehicle’s owner, who was sitting in his apartment residence overlooking the parking lot.

Olympia police arrived to witness Daly pulling on several vehicle door handles, allegedly attempting to break into those cars as well.

Daly told OPD that he was “just trying to get a charger” while admitting that none of the cars belonged to him.

Daly also admitted that he had been inside the vehicles, and had stolen items, but “I am not sure what belongs to who.”

On Daly’s person, police say they located the following items:

  • Black iPhone XR
  • A pair of white headphones
  • One Grey Trendsetter charger
  • Two brown and gold money clips
  • One black bag pack
  • Black pocketknife

In the backpack Daly was allegedly carrying were the following items:

  • A pair of white socks
  • Red Nike shirt
  • One headlamp
  • Black flashlight
  • Red flashlight
  • Taco Bell gift card
  • One drivers license belonging to [an individual with the initials AVB]
  • Camo flashlight, broken
  • Black and red pocket juice portable charger
  • Light blue, HeyDay portable charger
  • Browning pocketknife
  • Black iPhone case
  • EBT card
  • 2 Co2 cylinders
  • One bag of delectable dabs
  • Blue face nicotine bottle –
  • Snus container
  • 2 pill bottles with pills inside
  • A pack of gum
  • Gillette foam shaving cream
  • Empty eye drop bottle
  • One cloud Nurds Nicotine container

On the ground nearby, police claim they found the following:

  • Black pair of headphones with the name of a Michael H. written on them.
  • Ziploc bag with a jump rope inside
  • A composition Notebook
  • A black and blue torch lighter
  • Broken 12-inch ruler
  • One red pencil pouch with pencils inside
  • Two mathematics books

Daly was transported to Olympia Jail, booked on three counts of vehicle prowl.
