Sidewalk construction ongoing in Tumwater this month

Numerous sidewalks in Tumwater will be under construction Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. this month, from September 6 to October 6, and will be closed to pedestrians.

“Sidewalk deficiencies identified through the City ADA Transition Plan update will be repaired in the northeast area of the city. Two crosswalks will be upgraded with the installation of a Rectangular Rapid-Flashing Beacon (RRFB) system,” said the city in a press release. “A crosswalk will be installed on the south leg of Capitol Blvd and Custer Way.”

Community members passing through the areas are asked to drive slowly and follow flaggers’ instructions.
