Representative’s RV ripped off

Posted

Just twelve days after two suspects broke into and attempted to set fire to his business, State Rep. Andrew Barkis (WA-District 2, R) woke up to find his camping trailer stolen.

In his Facebook post published this morning, Barkis reported standing outside his home and noticing his camper missing.

“Unreal. I am so angry right now!,” the representative said in his post.

According to Barkis, the camper is a white Timber Ridge model measuring 24 feet with Washington plate number 37624AC. He speculated that the RV was stolen between 1 to 5 a. m.

The Sheriff’s office has been notified of the theft, Barkis said.

Last week Monday, June 13, two masked men were caught on camera breaking the window and throwing a lit flare into the office of Hometown Property Management, owned by Barkis.

According to Barkis, Olympia police speculate the attack was a diversion for a theft that happened in a nearby antique store. The representative, however, dismissed the idea.

There is currently a $5,000 reward offered by Barkis for information that may lead to the capture and conviction of the perpetrators of the arson attempt.
