Public hearing Monday on Ingersoll Stadium

Posted

The Olympia School District wants to open up Ingersoll Stadium at Olympia High School to groups who are not affiliated with the district.

“The District’s consideration of this application was prompted initially by the current critical need for additional fields for boys and girls youth lacrosse,” the district wrote in its land use review application. “However, other community organizations also have expressed a need to use the Stadium due to the lack of other safe, appropriate, and accessible local playfields.”

Over twenty people submitted public comments about this proposal in the last few weeks.

Olympia’s transportation engineer found that this proposal would not have a “significant impact on traffic,” according to the staff report.

A public hearing about this project is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 9 at 6:30 pm.
