An Olympia man was charged last week after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house and assaulting her current boyfriend.

A Jan. 5 document from the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney indicated that Levie Clifford Pease, 35, was charged with first-degree burglary and residential burglary.

According to Olympia police, Pease was arrested last Mon., Jan. 3, after a reported burglary in the 2200 block of Division Street.

Pease’s ex-girlfriend told police that she and the suspect had been texting but she eventually blocked him for being rude.

The suspect then came to her apartment, she said, and asked to be let in.

The woman told her current boyfriend, who she lives with, not to let Pease in because she was afraid that the suspect would be violent.

A seven-minute surveillance video showed Pease breaking in the door and charging straight into the couple’s bedroom, followed by sounds of a scuffle that happened off-camera.

Pease could be heard making statements such as “You`re getting f*cked up you little b*tch” and “Why can’t I hurt him when he hurts me?”

Police say the woman told them that Pease punched her boyfriend repeatedly and pulled his hair. She said she tried to intervene, but the two men fell to floor wrestling.

The ex-girlfriend soon managed to pin Pease to the ground, at which point the suspect attempted unsuccessfully to bite her arms, according to the police report. She was heard screaming “Don’t you bite me” several times in the footage.

The boyfriend, meanwhile, told police that Pease hit him with “hammer fists” after breaking the door to enter their home.

During the fight, the boyfriend said he began having an asthma attack, prompting his girlfriend to take control of the suspect. In the surveillance video, someone could be heard yelling “I can’t breathe” off-camera.

Police noted a lump in the back of the boyfriend’s head and a red abrasion on his left arm. He said there have been previous violent incidents involving Pease, but those were not reported to police as they were resolved through mediation.

The boyfriend told police he believed that Pease is an alcoholic who needs help with his addiction.

Pease was booked into the Thurston County Jail for residential burglary.
