North Thurston School Board to approve Fall 2020 reopening plan

Posted

LACEY –– Much like other public school districts in Thurston County, The North Thurston School Board is expected to approve a Fall 2020 reopening plan in a Tuesday meeting this week at 6 p.m.

While school officials indicated in previous weeks that North Thurston Public Schools will be entirely remote for all students through the fall semester, the decision will be formally approved by the school board during a remote meeting Aug. 18. The Olympia School Board, as well as the Tumwater School Board, made similar decisions for their school districts in recent weeks in response to the COVID-19 pandemic still being a concern for students, families and school staff through the end of the year.

Officials on the North Thurston School Board will also vote on contractual service agreements related to the funding of capital projects, as well as the approval of the school district’s 2020-21 budget and a discussion on a district-wide resolution on equity.
