New Linger Boutique is on a mission to help women to slow down

Linger Boutique, specializing in elegant lingerie, sleep and loungewear opened in Downtown Olympia last month, with a commitment to normalizing rest and pleasure by reimagining the shopping experience for intimacy and sexual wellness products.

Founder Shauna Stewart said they have been operating online since October 2021. On May 12, she opened the downtown store, which carries female-founded brands and locally-made products.

Stewart said the online store, at LingerBoutique.com, allows them to reach a wider market and the physical store offers space for a comfortable shopping experience.

“The idea originated with having a brick and mortar store that offers a comfortable shopping experience, creating a sense of connection and community. Additionally, because of the nature of our products, our customers want to try things on, touch and feel the products, and ask questions,” she said.

According to Shauna, the community has been supportive of the store. “They love having a new place to buy beautiful things for themselves or gifts for others. Many love finding lingerie and sleepwear that they don't see everywhere else and appreciate having a sex-positive space that feels elevated, comfortable and stigma-free.”

What you’ll find on the shelves

Linger Boutique offers products that inspire comfort, rest, simple pleasures, self-love, deep intimacy and luxurious sleep, according to Stewart.

“We've partnered with passionate, innovative, industry-disrupting women to help our community feel good. Our bath and body products are made by local makers. We have some lovely sleepwear and sexual wellness brands based out of the Pacific Northwest, and we source throughout the United States, Europe and beyond,” she said.

The shop has a wide array of sophisticated-looking lingerie and comfortable sleep and loungewear.

Linger Boutique has sexual wellness products that aim to reduce stress and anxiety, boost the immune system, and promote better sleep.

The sexual wellness products are designed by women. The products are well-engineered with body-safe materials for comfort and pleasure, according to the shop's website.

Other products include hand-made soaps, scented and unscented candles, bath salts, bath bombs, lacy loofah, and room and body spray. These products are designed to help women slow down and relax.

Essential products, such as cleaners, lubricants, storage systems and others, are available in Linger Boutique.

Linger’s mantra

A phrase: “In a world of fast, we like it slow” is displayed on a wall of the shop.

Stewart said it is a reminder to women that “it’s okay to prioritize pleasure – at a pace that works for their bodies, hearts and minds.”

She says the fast-paced and “quicky” culture is doing a disservice to women. “In a society that idolizes busy, many women report feeling too tired and too stressed to enjoy sexual wellness. Like exercise, sex is good for your immune system, contributes to better sleep, and increases happiness while reducing stress and anxiety,” Stewart explained.

“We hope to build a more connected world by inviting our community to slow down and take time for what matters most: self-love and meaningful connections,” she added.

Linger Boutique’s founder said she hopes the business will help normalize rest and pleasure and give more women the opportunity to feel confident about feeling good.

Customers, according to Stewart, described the shop as lovely, beautiful and comfortable, which is exactly what they hoped for.
