A convicted felon was arrested anew after allegedly roaming an Olympia neighborhood while armed, claiming that someone was out to get him.

According to a report from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, Ronald Lee Nutter, 54, of Littlerock, was arrested on March 5 after a reported suspicious incident on Ninth Way.

Reporting parties from the neighborhood told authorities that there was a vehicle collision and a man, later identified as Nutter, left his car to go to various houses in search of help, stating that someone tried to blow up his car.

A Sheriff’s deputy said the suspect was “frantic” and told him that a woman he met months ago on Facebook demanded he go to Walmart to buy her some Visa gift cards.

Nutter also said that “they made my phones so I couldn’t use them.” The report did not make clear who he was referring to, but a deputy noted that the suspect was “extremely fearful” that people were following him to try and hurt him.

A deputy said video footage taken by residents showed Nutter driving eastbound on Ninth Way, followed by a loud crash that was heard immediately after his vehicle exited the frame. The suspect had hit a parked car, pushing it partially into a driveway.

One witness was visibly shaken and upset, a deputy wrote, saying that Nutter came to her house while yelling with a gun in his hand.

Authorities found a loaded magazine in Nutter’s vehicle.

The suspect initially denied having a gun, but a deputy later found a loaded firearm and a case of ammunition in the front yard of a house on Tanbark Street.

Deputies detained the suspect, who tried to run away but tripped. Eighteen loose bullets were retrieved from his pants pocket.

Nutter was booked at the Thurston County Jail for unlawful possession of a firearm.
