The City of Lacey warned motorists to expect major traffic delays along Carpenter Road as it receives final paving from Tue., Sept. 7 to Thurs., Sept 9.

As a reminder, the city urged motorists to provide more time than usual if driving through the area. In their advisory, the city shared that the roadwork will move from south to the north.

The roadwork will begin on Tue., Sept. 7 on both lanes from Mullen Rd to 37th Ave. By Wed., Sept. 8, the roadwork will begin on the northbound lane from 37th Ave to 26th Ave. On Thurs., Sept. 9, the remaining roadwork will cover the southbound lane from 37th Ave to 26th Ave. (See photo with this story.)

In addition, the city announced that in areas near the school, paving is scheduled before or after school hours. For example, the road in front of  Holy Family School will receive paving on Wed., Sept. 8 starting at 3:45 p.m., after school ends.

Finally, the city shared that driveways and dead-end streets will be closed while the machine passed by. However, they assured that the roads will be immediately re-opened once the pavement cools and becomes safe for driving.
