Free water testing for flood-affected wells

Testing bottles and instructions available starting tomorrow at five locations

Thurston County Environmental Health will provide free water testing for flood effected wells beginning Tue., Jan. 18. Testing consists of analyzing a water sample for the presence of E. Coli, an indicator that water may be contaminated flood water, animal waste, or sewage.

Beginning Tuesday, people can pick up special water sample bottles and instructions at several locations throughout Thurston County. Locations and instructions are available at: http://ow.ly/rfC850HvnlK. People who have questions about their water quality or testing procedures can call (360) 867-2673.

  • Rochester Organization of Families
  • Rainier Town Hall
  • Tenino City Hall
  • Yelm Public Works, Public Health and Social Services
  • Thurston County Courthouse Complex, Building 1

When: Tue. Jan. 18, 2022 through Thu., Jan. 27, 2022

 Residents can receive specific notifications based on where they live, or what types of information they are interested in. Currently, subscribers can opt-in to river notifications as well as local alerts from public safety agencies warning of life-threatening events and emergencies.
