Death Cafe at the Green Lady Shoppe

The regularly scheduled monthly Death Cafe is on the third Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Green Lady Shoppe. The event is free admission.

If you don't know what a Death Cafe is, at a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death.

The objective is "to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives."

A Death Cafe is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes.

It is a discussion group rather than grief counseling or funeral planning, although these topics are fair game.

Other topics might include your thoughts, feelings, and experiences relating to: life after death, past lives, near-death experiences, reincarnation, ghostly apparitions, loss, memorial rites/customs, methods of dealing with mortal remains, etc, etc…

Death Cafes are always offered:

• On a not-for-profit basis
• In an accessible, respectful, and confidential space
• With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product, or course of action
• Alongside refreshing coffee, tea – and cake!
