Death Cafe

Posted by OlyTimberlandLibrary

At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea, and discuss death. Rather than a grief support group, it's a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. The objective is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives.

Facilitator info:
Glenn Harper is an end-of-life caregiver by profession with an abiding interest and curiosity in philosophy, religion, and the Great Mystery people all must face. He believes that, since aging and dying are inescapable, people should learn about, and lean into, these areas of inquiry to be equipped for the path ahead. The discussions are always interesting, often entertaining, and surprisingly energizing and life-affirming!
