Join the monthly Death Café at United Churches of Olympia, 110 11th Avenue SE, Olympia.
The event's objective is “to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives.”
Facilitated by a trained death doula, this is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda or themes.
This is not a grief group, an obituary writing group, or a funeral planning group, though those issues can be discussed.
Conversations can be about your thoughts and feelings relating to: life after death, near-death experiences methods of dealing with mortal remains, etc.
Death Cafes are offered on a non-profit basis, in a respectful and confidential space, with no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product, or course of action.
Cake is provided as well as coffee and/or tea. There is no fee for the Death Café.
For further information, contact Elaine Lyford-Nojima at elaineln@pacbell.net.
Parking is in the lot at the corner of Capital Way South and 11th Avenue SE.
