Chor Anno in Concert

Posted by dcolgan3

Spend an evening or an afternoon soaring the skies with thirty-six of the northwest's finest choral professionals. Made up mostly of choir directors from throughout Washington and Oregon, this will be Chor Anno's second year in Olympia. The concert will be packed with meaningful music and powerful stories. From a Renaissance motet to a stimulating contrast with folk hymns and timeless popular tunes by Bob Dylan and by Paul McCartney, it's a journey through diverse musical landscapes. Our rich and varied soundscape calls your attention to Jake Runestad's latest composition "Becoming the Ocean," where the poetry of Kahlil Gibran reminds us that "none can go back," including the imagery of a trembling river flowing to the sea. Gibran tells us of the power of community, of joining together with others to become more powerful, more capable, and more loved than we are on our own. We remind you through music that will touch the core of your spirit "not to look away," but to raise your voice and to take a stand!
