We had a male and female couple come through our gate despite the no trespassing sign at about 11 PM at night. Our dogs alerted us and we went outside. The male was outside of their vehicle, a Ford Explorer, looking at our pickup truck. The female was using her cell phone as a flashlight.
They were strangers to us. When we confronted them they said they were there for 'gas money'.
One of my family members came out with a shotgun and told them to sit down. Another member of my family had called 911 and a deputy showed up within a few minutes. He said he'd been watching this couple in our rural area, going up and down roads with their lights off.
The deputy ran their information and found out the male had a warrant out for his arrest in Lewis county.
And then he LET THEM GO. He said, oh, our jail is full.
This is why we are so frustrated by the lack of law enforcement in Thurston county. This is why we are forced to take matters into our hands.
